Approved by The Directorate General of Shipping, Government of India. Leading to Second Mate’s Foreign-Going Certificate of Competency awarded by the D.G. Shipping, Ministry of Shipping , Government of India after twelve months of Sea Service. This enables the cadets to become Navigating Officers on board Merchant Navy Ships worldwide.
Course Duration:3 years or 6 semesters residential course.
Education Qualification: A pass in Plus-two (12th Standard) or its equivalent, with minimum 60% aggregate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry group and at least 50% marks in English.
Age: Below 25 years at the time of commencement of the course
Gender: Boys and Girls are eligible to apply
Medical Standard: Candidates should be physically fit for sea service under standard norms, with eyesight 6/6 in better eye, 6/9 in other eye and with no colour blindness.
